Sylvain Chauveau has done seven solo records on labels such as Type, FatCat, and DSA: minimal compositions for piano, strings, winds and electronics, with silence as a musical element. He has played live in the USA, Canada, Taiwan, Singapore, Salvador, England, Austria, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovenia and France. He opened a few times for Sigur Ros (2002, 2003), played with Fennesz, Bernhard Günter, Nikos Veliotis, Phil Durrant, Pierre-Yves Macé, and did remixes for some bands. He composes soundtracks for films by Sébastien Betbeder, for choreographers (Pierre Rigal / Aurélien Bory, Serge Ricci) and for performances with writers (Mark Z. Danielewski, Félicia Atkinson, Joris Lacoste). Sylvain Chauveau plays in avant-rock band Arca (with Joan Cambon), ensemble 0 (pronounced "zero", with Stéphane Garin, Joël Merah and Maitane Sebastian), On (with Steven Hess), and with Félicia Atkinson.
